Writing Course For Phd candidates
The PhD Writing Course is the foundational guide for PhD students at Academic Coach. Writing your PhD is one of the hardest things you will ever do as a writer as it requires you to bring original cutting edge research to life in an enormous dissertation of between 80-100,000 words. It is the longest, and most technically complex piece of writing you have ever done. PhD programmes offer lots of training on research and methods, and your supervisor will be there to give you subject specific guidance on your ideas. They will comment on your writing sporadically. But they probably won’t advise you on how to write your PhD, nor will your programme offer an intensive writing course that offers both the practical and psychological support needed to complete this complex piece of writing.

write your literature review with ease and clarity
The Lit review sets the stage for the examiners to understand what you are contributing to knowledge. It is where you set out your conceptual approach to your thesis, and where you demonstrate your grasp of the field.
It is one of the hardest things to write on a PhD, and it is written in layers.
This programme will give you the 6 steps to conducting and then writing a successful lit review so you can showcase your expertise to your examiners.
Don’t struggle alone! It is straightforward when you know how.
Community, accountability, coaching.
Write with me 3 times x 2 weeks - live! Mondays, Wednesday’s and Thursdays.
The Writing Sprint Club is for academic writers (PhD and faculty) who want to create guaranteed writing time every week to push their projects forward. Research on writing productivity (eg Boice, amongst many others) tells us that social writing - that is regular writing amongst others - results in more outputs. It is that simple. It has been measured time and again. It fuels positive emotions around writing and creates additional social benefits beyond the time spent writing. Writing clubs become organic engines of support outside of your department, your discipline and your country, and you are engaged in a common endeavour with people who truly understand. Paying a fee actually increases the effectiveness of social writing because it creates an appointment you feel you should keep. Having an outside facilitator again ensures you are more likely to turn up as opposed to in-house writing sessions.
