Academic small group coaching

Academic Coach offers Early Career Researchers and established academics writing support in the form of small group coaching (group size 4-5 participants).

If you would like to be part of a writing group that will engage with tailored writing support alongside a group of other like minded writers who are looking to improve their writing practice and craft, then the small group coaching option is the service you are looking for. Small group coaching is an incredibly cost effective way to experience support from a like minded community as well as Academic Coach. It provides accountability and interventions when you feel you might need a little extra motivation. Regular and predictable sessions can ensure you remain actively engaged with your writing project, or begin writing again after a hiatus.

Group coaching is for you if:

  • You enjoy the group learning environment

  • You want a more cost effective solution to accessing coaching, with the added benefit of a structured social support community

  • Timetabled coaching slots are better for you than than self motivated course engagement

Coaching takes place via Zoom in a regular coaching slot.

Pipeline Coaching Programme

This programme is aimed at academics who want to take control of their career and are ready to consciously construct their publishing priorities, rather than being in reactive mode. Pipeline coaching is for academics who want a predictable and proactive publication pipeline so that they can publish more, they can publish where they want, speak to the audiences they want to reach and hit their career metrics. Pipelines enable you to publish regularly and without angst and drama.  A viable pipeline puts an end to the stop/start feast or famine writing cycles that ultimately end up with less published outcomes per year.

The small group Publication Pipeline programme is a 4 week live coaching programme that will enable you to construct an effective publication pipeline. I will take you through the effective planning principles you need to understand, we will decide between different types of projects, I will give you tools to work on multiple projects at once, and by the end of the programme you will have completed your publication pipeline for the next 12 months. Instead of bouncing from project to project, we are going to construct your pipeline with an end in mind. No more saying yes to things you don’t want to do, instead you will focus on how you want your career to progress and develop.

Having an effective publication pipeline alleviates procrastination and avoidance habits that you might experience – even when that procrastination is actually writing things you do not want to do. The coaching programme will give you the tools you need to overcome the obstacles erected between you and the projects you are really committed to progressing. At the end of this programme you will have finalised your publication pipeline for the coming academic year.
